The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. This seascape imagines a colorful variety of reef life waving in the underwater currents. The tentacle-like brush strokes are sometimes overlay complimentary color underpainting, sometimes complimentary colors are laid down brush stroke beside brush stroke. Generally, this work, a different design path for this artist, was an experiment in the use of a broad brush in a familiar palette.

Henry Manning is a visual artist who interprets the world around him in abstract terms.
