The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. I've never visited the rain forests of the tropics, but I can imagine how it would feel to be totally enveloped by the canopy of thickly interwoven vegetation, obscuring even the sun above, except for an occasional peek at that orb against a deep blue sky background. This abstract artwork captures that imagined view.
